Benefits:

1. Privacy & Security: In hospitals, medical personnel have access to your records. There is high risk of breach. Hospitals take insurance, and in order to be authorized for treatment, insurance requires a diagnosis that remains on medical records. Now insurance personnel also have access to those records. If you work with me, unless subpoenaed or otherwise legally mandated, your records will only be seen by me.

2. Concierge Model: When working with me, you work with me. You do not work with students, or even a secretary. I handle everything. You will have a direct line to me at all times. My team is only involved in education and research.

3. Customized Treatment & Care: My focus is on quality, not quantity. I work with a limited number of individuals to provide treatment of the highest caliber. My treatments are tailored to your personality and challenges.

4. Collaboration & Transparency: I work with you to determine the best course of action. I do not impose treatments, or treat you like an object to be fixed. You are not. I am transparent about to the process, and can flexibly transition to alternative treatments, if needed.

NEuropsychology

What is a neuropsychological assessment?

A comprehensive neuropsychological assessment includes an evaluation of cognitive, personality and emotional functioning. It is often sought out for diagnostic clarity and treatment planning. Procedures may include an interview, intelligence testing, academic testing, and a variety of other tasks that measure functions such as attention, memory, language, executive functioning, sensory-perceptual integrity, and fine motor skills. Analysis of the results will identify your unique cognitive signature, including potential strengths and weaknesses (s & w), which lead to recommendations in service of optimizing your functioning.

What should I expect?

Evaluations are typically computerized and paper-and-pencil based tasks that have been correlated to brain functioning. Overall, the testing process includes an initial interview, administration of tasks, scoring, interpretation and the generation of a comprehensive report. Depending on individual abilities, tolerance, and the referral question, the entire process may range anywhere between 8-15 hours.

Brain Rehab &

Cognitive EnhancemenT

  • Any notable brain injury will likely result in cognitive impairments. After determination of cognitive impairments through a neuropsychological evaluation, one question many ask is, "what can I do about it?" One answer is brain rehab/cognitive remediation.

  •  Cognitive remediation consists of:
    a)  Restoration: activities focused on restoring lost functions
    b)  Compensation: learning techniques to compensate for the impaired function .

  • CNC's brain rehabilitation program includes education on techniques/strategies to compensate for deficits as well as engaging in activities that may assist with restoration of functions. Only empirically supported techniques are used.

  • CNC also offers a cognitive enhancement program for healthy individuals who are interested in advancing their current functions so as to operate at an optimal level.
